Are you getting tired of this story yet? We sure are, but people seem to keep talking about it. So hey, get this: Rush “the Refrigerator” Limbaugh says he’s OK with Sonia Sotomayor being a reverse racist (which, by the way, is impossible because reverse racism doesn’t actually exist). According to this piece which appeared on cnn.com, he’s all down with Sotomayor. Sort of.
See, in Rush’s estimation, the only thing worse than being a reverse racist is killin’ babies. And since there’s a chance Judge Sotomayor may vote to overturn Roe v. Wade, he’ll let the “wise Latina woman” comment slide, kinda. To wit, from the aforementioned story:
I don’t know that it will ever happen, but if you know, the opportunity to get somebody like her, she’s a Catholic, she’s a devout Catholic, she’s a Hispanic Catholic, Puerto Rican, they tend to be devout, she hasn’t got a record on this. Normally liberals do have a record,” Limbaugh said.
Um, yeah. Hey, nothing racist in your statement, Rush.
Of course, this is the guy who claimed a song called “Barack the Magic Negro” was totally inoffensive as he tried to pass it off as a parody of the liberal media’s obsession with then-Senator Obama’s blackness.
Anyway, Rush continues:
…she would bring a form of racism and bigotry to the court. But as I said yesterday, folks, I’m — I’m — I may look past that.”
So is that better or worse than bringing racism and bigotry to America’s airwaves? 50-50? Thanks, Rush, for looking beyond your fat fucking gut and doing us a big favor.
