Last week the story about a paranoid schizophrenic with “bi-polar tendencies” crossed the wires. Apparently in the course of his regular banking, he made a threat against Barack Obama. It was in Utah, though, so we figured, meh, par for the course. But gadzooks, we were wrong!
Turns out the Secret Service frowns on that kind of behavior, and the nut ball is gonna face some serious charges! Oops.
You know who’s probably not gonna face charges, though? Pastor Wiley Drake, the former second vice-president of the Southern Baptist Convention. What’d he do, Josh!?
Well, after the murder of Dr. George Tiller (whom the article strangely refers to as “abortionist George Tiller” — maybe they’d already used “doctor” in the sentence?), Drake went on the Alan Colmes Show to talk about…things…
On a recent webcast of his daily radio talk show, Wiley Drake…called last Sunday’s murder of Tiller “an answer to prayer.” Then during an interview with Alan Colmes on Fox News Radio, Drake said he was praying the same type of “imprecatory prayer” against the president of the United States.
What the hell!?!?
More specifically, what the hell does imprecatory mean!?!
Oooooh, it’s this:
Imprecatory prayer is a rarely performed type of prayer, cited in the Bible’s Psalms, which is a curse to bring “death and misfortune” to your enemies.
Well, that’s lovely. I’m sure that’s not what Pastor Drake meant, right? Ask him, Alan!
Later in the interview, Colmes returned to Drake’s answer to make sure he heard him right.
“Are you praying for his death?” Colmes asked.
“Yes,” Drake replied.
“So you’re praying for the death of the president of the United States?”
“Yes.”
Needless to say, Drake’s words have already been repudiated by Dr. Johnny Hunt, president of the SBC, and pretty much everyone else with half a brain. For the record, here’s what Hunt said:
[That's a] terrible statement, [a] very unbiblical statement. I’m still encouraged that the [Book of] Proverbs teaches that God has the water in a channel — and my prayer has always that God would turn hearts.
We couldn’t have said it better ourselves — at least not without profanity — so we’ll leave it at that.

Drake has long gone off the deep end. He uses his pulpit for his own personal agendas. Such as “boycotting Disneyland” for employing gays…..and his latest escapade, trying to prove that the President is an “illegal alien”. Drake seems to suffer from a mental illness named “narcissistic personality disorder”. People who suffer from this illness have symptoms such as delusions of grandeur. He seems to believe that acting like an insane person will get him fame. But he is only making a spectacle of himself. I feel sorry for his family. He has become an embarrassment to the FSBC. Maybe at one time his ideas about helping the homeless were positive and helpful. But he has turned his pulpit into a circus. His church services are no longer religious, but more political. And some people have been thrown out of the church physically for dissenting out loud. And there are a lot of O.C. citizens who dissent over his insane beliefs. If he’d use his position for the good of mankind, instead of for his own personal agendas, he night be doing a service to Orange County. But he isn’t. He should go back to Arkansas where his racism and hick ways are accepted. Because most of the citizens in O.C. think he is crazy and needs to be institutionalized.
