So apparently Jeb Bush (R-FL), the former governor of Florida and current brother of the worst leader in the history of civilization, is part of a team responsible for rebranding the Republican party.
Not surprisingly, the branding they’ve decided on is: “completely retarded and intellectually dishonest.” Whaddya know!? Same branding as before!
Seems Jeb sat down for an interview with Esquire (which he apparently doesn’t realize is only read by the gays and Democrats — same thing), and he couldn’t say for sure whether Barack Obama is a socialist. Here’s what he said when asked:
I don’t know. Define socialism for me. It’s a word… I believe he’s a collectivist. He believes that through collective action, through government, you can solve more problems.
Let’s break that down real quick. Jeb Bush has no idea whether the president is a socialist; it’s just too complicated! In fact, he doesn’t know what socialism is! We hasten to point out that Jeb is actually the smart Bush.
In fairness, maybe he hasn’t had enough time to consider the question because he’s been working at his communal farm since Jan. 20, 2009. Ya know, because we’re all socialists!
What Jeb does know, though, is that Barack Obama is a guy who thinks we can solve problems by working together and using government, which sounds like the kind of thing someone who, I dunno, works in freakin’ government would think!
Seriously, Jeb, if you don’t think collective action and government are capable of solving problems, why did you run for governor!? Why did you ever want to work in government!? Why didn’t you just buy weapons that matched your linen suits, and form some kind of Kennebunkport militia?
Sigh, whatever.
Next, Bush was asked about Obama’s popularity. Turns out that’s a sore subject…not surprisingly.
He downplayed the president’s approval ratings, which remain above average. “First of all, who cares?” he said.
Bush then plugged his fingers into his ears, closed his eyes, and ran around the room saying “lalalalalalalalalalalalalala.”
Seriously, Jeb? “Who cares?” Really? Your mom must be really proud of you.
Please, by all means, you must want to elaborate on that, right? Maybe try lying…
“His popularity is no greater – in fact it’s less – than what my brother’s was during the beginning of his tenure, in a time of unbelievable friction, if you think about it, because of the 2000 election. His approval ratings were higher than Barack Obama’s during his first one hundred days.”
Not only is that a lie, but it’s a big enough lie that even CNN caught it!
According to the most recent CNN/Opinion Research Corporation polls, Obama’s approval ratings have averaged several points higher than President George W. Bush’s were at the same point in their presidencies.
Just because there’s more to this article/interview, we’ll also add that Bush said Obama wouldn’t have won if he were honest about his intentions. Apparently Jeb Bush lives in a world where politicians always tell the truth, and keep their campaign pledges. Of course, given his sense of ethics, he must also live in a world where running a smear campaign that falsely says your opponent fathered a black baby and is mentally- and emotionally-unfit for office is a bad thing, right? Except wait, he had no problem with that when his brother did it to John McCain.
Well then surely he had a problem with the inherent dishonesty of publishing budgets that didn’t include fundamental spending like WARS, right? No, turns out he didnt’ have a problem with that either.
See, Jeb Bush is either intellectually dishonest or just regular dishonest. Either he knows what socialism is and knows Obama isn’t a socialist, or he doesn’t know what socialism is. For instance, Sec. of Transportation Ray LaHood (R-Ill.) responded to the ridiculous charge in March.
“I don’t agree with it,” LaHood said. “If you go out and interview these people working on this road in Maryland… these people are thrilled. They are thrilled that they are working in March on a good paying job building roads, which is what they were trained to do. That’s going to be happening all over America. So the idea that this is socialism — it is not socialism, it is economic development. It is going to provide an economic engine around communities all over American for jobs; good paying jobs; and help people pay their bills. I don’t call that socialism…. We are the model for the world when it comes to infrastructure. We are the model for the interstate system. I don’t call that socialism. Our $40 billion [for the Department of Transportation]: not socialism. It is good paying jobs that is going to drive the economies in a lot of states and a lot of communities.”
If anyone’s got a better plan, he should come forward with it. George W. Bush provided big government bailouts before he left office (and strangely that wasn’t socialism; that wasn’t a bold response). No one out there in the real world thinks this economy is good — it’s not — and an economy doesn’t fix itself overnight. To say these plans and efforts aren’t working is shortsighted, and to sit on the sidelines and try to incite hatred doesn’t help a damn thing. Fuck that. Here’s what Teddy Roosevelt would’ve said to assholes like Jeb Bush:

For the record, show us the stats on which you claim Jeb’s statement about the polls is factually wrong? I won’t hold my breath because for every poll you throw out there, there is another one that you’ll have to refute – so now I get it – It’s just easier to quote CN fuckin’ N than actually work at it! Ya-hooooo! If you in fact took the time to read the primary data (read: the polls themselves), you would see that the real story is that Obama remains very popular, but that’s about it (read: he’s likable enough). On almost every issue (read: the things that make people vote one way or another), he down, way way down. Independents on the whole have flipped on Obama and that’s on the heels of having lost his Republican support not too far into March of this year. So laugh it up, stay lazy, and watch your man flame out as we roll into the six inning here…..Oh yeah, that Russia Summit was a real doozy. They laughed at him over there and the pols here at home gritted their teeth as their Saviour fled the scene of controversy over health care and cap and trade…..The moral of it all is poop-yalarity only gets ya so far buddy.

and for the record Obama is not a socialist, he’s a populist who is governed exclusively by political opportunism. in reference to the employing of folks to build infrastructure etc, that is a good thing in a down economy but if you believe that the stimulus package is mainly about direct employment for a finite time period, you need your head examined and it would be worth your while to at least read the budget because most of the approved stimulus is actually a permanent increase in the size of government, not the bolstering of private sector jobs. if you run that one out to its natural conclusion you end up with what many would consider to be socialism: state run services operating as monopolies and that structurally preempt the ability of private enterprise to compete in those markets. nighty night lefties…….
Who cares what jeb Bush thinks or how he defines socialism. Socialism/progressivism is not in question. It exists and there are many in office now who believe in every principle of that philosophy. No Obama’s not a socialist he is a flat out communist. Lets quote him…well Marx actually and see if this isn’t exactly what his whole redistribution of wealth plan is about:
