Yeah. Yeah. Despite literally thousands of news stories available to the public in which President Obama’s birth certificate is shown prominently, there’s a Congressman today who said, more or less, that Obama’s a dirty illegal and he’s trying to fuck your daughter in the ass or something.
Maybe we should take this stuff more seriously. By “this stuff,” we mean the absolute, utter and total insane nonsense spouted by birthers and their Congressional ilk. Maybe we should be more outraged.
Today – Friday – we’re just totally shocked into numbness that this silliness is still going on.
What do we mean? Take a look at this story from Politico.
Rep. Paul Broun (R-Ga.) said Thursday that he does not know if President Barack Obama is either a citizen or a Christian.
Broun made the claim during an interview with Sirius XM host Pete Dominick, which was first flagged by the liberal blog Think Progress.
Asked if he thought the president is an “American citizen and a Christian,” Broun first responded, “I’m not going to get involved in that.”
But pressed on whether he thought Obama is a citizen, he said “I don’t know.”
“Is he a Christian?” Dominick then asked.
“I don’t know that,” Broun responded, explaining that “I’m a Christian but only me and the Lord know that for sure.”
The Georgia congressman spent much of the rest of the interview attacking Obama as a “socialist.”
This guy is another elected representative telling his constituents that he thinks Obama is…who knows. Black? Muslim? Certainly socialist. He’s not a Christian? Rejoinder: Who gives a shit?
By the way, if anyone can offer credible evidence supporting the absurd notion that Barack Obama is a socialist, we’re all ears.
Look, Fat America. You deserve better. We don’t even understand what Paul Broun’s problem is, other than being a Georgian. He’s a doctor, which means he’s actually educated. So what’s the deal? Where do these accusations come from?
There’s no real rant here, other than Americans – fat or not – deserve better than a hate-baiting twit who probably doesn’t even know R.E.M. is from the district he represents.
Seriously, what’s wrong with this country?
Solution to this one is simple – Obama is going to have to produce his baptism certificate. And not a fake “certified copy,” either. Only the real deal this time!
I’d say we should have to see Paul Broun’s birth certificate, too, but I see the picture of him sitting in the back of a pick-up with a shotgun. Can’t get more ‘murrkin than that.
