This is a bit of a head-scratcher. FOX News announced yesterday that the first installment of “Real American Stories,” a series hosted by famous wingnut journalist and hillbilly grifter Sarah Palin, will air on April 1, and feature interviews with Toby Keith, Jack Welch, and uh, LL Cool J.
Sure, two of those guys make sense, but LL Cool J? What? Why on Earth would LL freakin’ Cool J be going onto Sarah Palin’s show? Well it turns out he’s not. According to LL’s Twitter, the rapper recorded an interview with FOX in 2008, and the “news channel” is re-appropriating it for Palin’s show.

We can’t even wait to see how the “lamestream” media covers this one. They’ll probably call Palin out for deception and laziness. Or, more likely, they’ll just say it wasn’t clear what the format was, and even though it’s implicit in the ad that Palin will actually be interviewing people for her show — ya know, doing work – that that wasn’t necessarily the case. So more free passes for Sarah Palin, more excuses, more opportunity for America’s preeminent quitter to play the victim card.

Why is anyone surprised that the moron crew (Palin, Beck, Rove, etc.) misrepresent anything and everything to get their message of lies, hate & fear out to the masses.
A much sadder case is that a large part of the population of the US are buying into this crap hook, line and sinker. Guess the culture of reality tv, phony news and phony celebrities has so dulled the brains of people they have forgotten how to actually formulate a coherent thought or question anything that comes from the talking and moving pictures in front of them.
Don’t be surprised if in the not too distant future the GOP and its cronies create that scary government controlled state that they try so hard to pretend they don’t want and are protecting us from.
I think they’re pissed because what they are doing can be construed as illegal. Interviews aren’t stock footage and whomever conducted the interview needs to either get the interviewed person’s consent before selling the video or present a contract at the begining of the interview for later use. From LL cool J’s statement I can conclude neither were done.
My problem with it is the spawn it produces. I’m supremely tired of discussing politics and someone enters the fray and presents an opinion that is verbatim from glenn beck. I don’t watch him for a reason and his fear mongering, believe it or not, is working on the weak minded and uneducated. They’ve moved on from innocent banter into attacking a strong and true value throughout the world: College Education. They constantly tout their popularity and their online polls go something like this:

I was just thinking… maybe the MSM is giving Palin a pass because (perhaps) they are easier on women. For instance, I saw a special on the prison system in the U.S. that said women are rarely executed, and are usually let out of prison much earlier for serious crimes than men are, including murder(!) But…
Then why is the MSM giving Glenn Beck so much credence? It’s obvious he is either a complete nut, or simply doing it for the money (and so too, Palin) neither of which is acceptable, even if it’s deemed “entertainment.” Let’s work to get this trash off the networks!
It says she “profiles” these people, not interview. She’s just hosting the show, and it likely involves past interviews from everyone on it.
Even if she were just “profiling” people, wouldn’t that imply that SHE’S profiling them, and not just taking two-year-old interviews and passing them off as her own?
I guess it should be implicit in anything that has to do with Sarah Palin, but people should expect the least amount of effort and whatever will result in her earning the most money. By that standard, yeah, you’re right, nothing misleading about the way they pitched it at all.

Good Christ. It should be pretty clear what it is about Sarah Palin that makes thinking people hate her.
It’s great that a woman was governor of Alaska. The fact that it was this woman — Palin — is something of an American tragedy. How can you even count being a female governor or the youngest among her accomplishments? She resigned when she realized she could be more famous — and make more money — as a celebrity than as a politician. Those are the traits of an asshole, not a leader.
Looking inward: I’ve done a lot of things in my life, none of them as stellar as being the governor of an American state. But here’s the thing, dipshit: Being a politician or a celebrity is not among my goals.
The gripe about Palin is absolutely about her platform and her intelligence, nothing else. She’s smart enough to know that she’s not as smart as most big-scale American politicians, and she’s also smart enough to know she’s smarter than most Fat Americans in this nation of ours. And instead of doing something worthwhile — say, working with children with special needs — she chooses to push the Sarah Palin brand rather than work for the American people.
Country first, my ass. She’s a liar. She’s disingenuous. She’s intellectually incurious, and she’s a fear monger. Those things together make her a class-A scumbag. There’s nothing inherently wrong with pushing a conservative agenda if it comes from a place of honesty. If Palin thought she could make more money playing on Arianna Huffington’s side of the table, she’d be a liberal overnight.
And here’s a clue for you: As a person from the Midwest who’s had the fortune to live many, many places, I can tell you that the people in the flyover states are indeed simplistic.
