Just plain stupid. Even if you accept the contention that priests are gay because of celibacy, getting rid of the celibacy is not going to make them straight. You might attract a few more straights to the priesthood, but I don’t think that is the problem. The better idea would be to make all priests women, who are much less prone to being sexual predators.
